Flavor Engineered for the Elements
Our Roots
Trail & Timber Spice Co. was born at the intersection of two distinct culinary worlds: the relentless, wood-fired traditions of Texas and the crisp, aromatic air of the Colorado Rockies.
We believe that a rub shouldn’t just coat meat; it should engineer a transformation. Whether you are holding a steady 225°F in a basement-built offset smoker or searing a trout over a backcountry campfire, our blends are built to survive the heat and elevate the protein.
Our Philosophy: Rugged Precision
We don’t use fillers. No silicon dioxide, no “natural flavors” that hide behind a lab report, and no cheap salt-packing to pad our margins.
As a Spice Scientist, I view every ingredient through a technical lens:
Volatile Oil Content: We select herbs like Rosemary and Oregano for their ability to withstand long smoke times without turning bitter.
The Bark Science: Our grinds are specifically engineered to create a mahogany-hued pellicle—that perfect bark that every pit master chases.
Global Aromatics, Western Soul: We pull from the world’s pantry—Sumac from the Mediterranean, Guajillo from Mexico—but we filter it through the American West. If it doesn’t feel like a dusty trail in Austin or a pine-heavy ridge in Silverthorne, it doesn’t make the cut.
Our Promise
Trail & Timber is for the explorers, the weekend warriors, and the technical cooks who care about the “why” behind the flavor. We are a small-batch operation committed to clean labels and bold profiles. From the first spark to the final bite, we’re here to ensure your cook is legendary.
